For over 11 years now, Dan T has researched and learned the fastest ways to fuel the human body. I have helped over 5000 people with a lot of weight to lose successfully reach their goals healthfully. I currently practice Dietetics in the public and private sectors in Ontario, Canada. However, my passion is to share with and empower as many people as I can by providing them with evidenced based cutting edge nutrition protocols that they can use to change their lives and health for the better!
Like most Dietitians, I’m frustrated with my profession. The more I studies I read, the more I see that current standards of practice for nutritional science are woefully inadequate & completely outdated, as well as being somewhat suspicious of being economically driven!!! Most importantly, they don’t work for most people!
It’s clear that my profession had developed tunnel vision revolving medical and pharmaceutical communities. Due to this old school attitude surrounding effective body fat management, I invested numerous hours and tens of thousands of dollars to study and perfect behavioral, dietary and physical intervention skills for effective fat, fitness and health & longevity management. Now that I am licensed and researching and practicing on my own terms, and performing regular clinical & academic research, I can honestly say that I believe I have the answer as to the best nutrition practices for body composition management, performance and long term health and you can bet that it is a holistic approach including behavioral change principles.

Some people call me the “Dr. House” of fitness because my style is blunt, straightforward and I will be honest with you, even if it isn’t something that you want to hear. My goal is to make you stronger, faster or more athletic within the parameters of your body and whatever goal you choose to pursue.

I have been a personal trainer and coach for 14 years, and my goal is to become one of the most sought after and highly respected trainers in my field within the City of Ottawa and eventually the country. Using my education combined with a vast knowledge of mechanics, physiology, and human movement I can create an exercise experience that is unparalleled for my clients. Moving my successful practice from Toronto to Ottawa in 2010, I have established myself within the city as someone who gives high quality service and is a resource within the industry. After spending an hour with me, I hope you will come away from it knowing more about your body and being able to perform at a higher level than when you walked into my facility. My pursuit of fitness has always brought me back into learning, and I have taken steps to learn about every facet of health. This includes a high level of knowledge about nutrition, biomechanics, injury management, time and stress management and general physiology. This is so that I can answer questions that my clients may have, but also do it in a way that they can relate to without any misunderstanding. Over the past few years my knowledge has led me into the field of injury management, where I have helped many people recover from sore backs, hips, knees, shoulders and many other situations that may have held them back from high performance. I base my philosophy on science and simple application. My belief is that through proper placement of force on joints, and changing the way that you think and approach exercise can have a radical difference in your quality of life and make you feel, move and think better not only now, but ten years from now. I don’t use quick fixes and I base what I’m doing to you on what is best for your body at that time.
I constantly update my knowledge in order to have as many ways as possible to help my clients. I have certifications from Can-Fit-Pro, the C.H.E.K. Institute and the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology as well as many other courses in things like proper nutrition concepts, advanced mechanics and therapy modalities. To be truly educated, one cannot adhere to only one training style and as a trainer I simply try to have as large a toolbox as I can get in order to help the people I work with.
